    Mid-Year Chapter Update

Happy summer, everyone! As you are enjoying the sunshine and warm weather, PRSA Colorado is keeping busy to make sure we are prepared to welcome you back to the second half of 2019 with relevant professional development programs, valuable networking events and more. Before jumping in to some of the plans for Q3 and Q4, I’m excited to share a recap of the first half of 2019.

    • As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we do not seek to make a revenue, but to maintain a balanced budget. At this point in the year, we are financially healthy and putting every penny that exceeds our budget back into the chapter, so we can continue to bring top-notch programming and a positive experience to our members and friends of PRSA Colorado.
    • Since January 1, we have added 71 new members and 32 new volunteers have joined our committees. In total, we have 392 members and 70 dedicated volunteers.
    • We’ve held 20 professional development and networking events, attracting nearly 500 members and friends of PRSA.
    • Our chapter has celebrated 2 new accredited members and we anticipate several more to come before the year is over.
    • We are busy keeping you in the know through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and our bi-weekly eNews. Make sure to look for our videos featuring program guests sharing their takeaways.

As we look ahead to the rest of the year, there are a few areas where we need you, our members, to help us end the year on a positive note.

    • We have 9 committee leadership positions available, offering the opportunity to hone your skills or develop new ones, and meet new people.
    • There are 9 open board positions for 2020 where you can take your chapter leadership to the next level. Terms range from 2 to 3 years, leading to several of our current board members cycling off from the board at the end of this year.
    • We are planning at least 5 programs and 7 Connects Groups for August through December, ending the year with our holiday party. Keep an eye out for these, register and we’ll see you there!

If you have any comments, questions, concerns, please share them with us at [email protected]. And, thank you to everyone who makes it possible for us to be an integral part of the Colorado and Western District communications community!
