CU PRSSA’s Sustainable Safari Fundraiser
Presented by the CU Boulder College of Media, Communication & Information (CMCI) and the Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design (APRD) department.
By: Victor Alamillo, CU PRSSA Summer Fundraiser Coordinator
This summer I am working with a team of CU PRSSA students and collaborating with the PRSA Colorado chapter to plan the annual student fundraiser.
We are excited to bring “Sustainable Safari” to Colorado’s communications professionals. A panel discussion on sustainability with experts from various perspectives. Our panel includes:
- Rep. Lisa Cutter
- Tiana Kennedy, Associate Vice Chancellor of the CSU System
- Taylor Moellers, City of Denver Office of Climate Action
- Renee Robinson, APR, Ball Corporation
Panelists will touch upon topics such as the importance of corporate responsibility, communication strategies for sustainability and what we must do to move in a positive direction towards a sustainable future.
The Sustainable Safari will take place on Friday, Aug. 12, at CSU Spur in Denver.
- Check-in: 7:30 a.m.
- Program: 8-9:30 a.m.
During check in, attendees will have the chance to mingle and enjoy a light breakfast. Registration is now open! Click here to register by Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022!
The event is designed to raise funds to send as many PRSSA chapter members to the PRSSA National Conference and PRSA’s ICON in November. These conferences are an opportunity for students to connect with PR professionals and learn more about the industry.
I want to thank the fundraising committee for advising and helping me and CU PRSSA throughout the planning process. Organizing the fundraiser has allowed me to gain invaluable experience with event planning, social media and networking, which I intend to use in my career.
Additionally, the CU PRSSA chapter wants to thank all of our sponsors for their support. We sincerely appreciate the support from the Colorado PR and PRSA community and cannot wait to take full advantage of the funds to send as many of our chapter members to PRSSA National and ICON this fall.
