Where do I start? I am so grateful to have found in PRSA Colorado.

After moving here from Chicago, I continued working independently with a large portion of my business being out of state. I had attended a few events in Chicago, but never joined as a member or made any effort beyond showing up. As you can imagine, I got out of it as much as I put into it. Not much.

Fast forward five years, and while I had worked with more local Colorado clients, I still didn’t have a PR community in Denver. Anyone that works alone knows how isolating that can be. After the gigantic PR landscape of Chicago, I assumed (remember what they say about assuming anything?) that there couldn’t be much that Denver had to offer. Boy, was I wrong.

The PRSA community in Denver is rich with top-notch talent, welcoming faces and professional development resources. I had no idea that we were the 5th largest chapter in the country, and that one of our very own is now the PRSA president. There is a huge independent PR professional community, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the camaraderie and opportunity that provides.

I am a proud PRSA member and Colorado chapter member where I sit on the Gold Pick committee. I am also working towards adding those three little letters to my name that every PR pro dreams of – APR.

If you don’t join PRSA I will be honest – you are missing out! I wish I hadn’t waited so long. Come out to an event and say hello, we’d all love to meet you.
