5 Simple Steps: Submitting to PRSA Gold Picks
All of the steps and hyperlinks you need to submit your work for Gold Picks:
- Review the Campaigns and Components and decide where you fit.
Take a close look and give this some thought. We receive entries that aren’t submitted to the appropriate campaign or category and aren’t allowed to move them. It breaks our hearts. Not sure of the difference?
- Campaigns: Campaign awards recognize complete programs incorporating sound research, planning, execution, and evaluation. They must meet the highest standards of performance in the profession.
- Components: Component awards recognize outstanding public relations tactics, the individual items or components of programs and campaigns.
- Be aware of entry deadlines and plan accordingly.
- Early: Entry and payment received online by 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. Entry files must be uploaded to assigned Dropbox folder by Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Members: $80/entry, non-members: $115/entry
- Late: Entry form received online by 4 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016. Entry files must be uploaded to assigned Dropbox folder by Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Members: $170/entry, non-members: $200/entry
- Prepare your entry, which includes:
- Summary Page: This is the most important part of your entry, so consider judging criteria and leave an impression. View tips for bringing home a Gold Pick award from previous winners and check out 2015’s winners. Summary pages have a maximum length of two pages for campaigns and one page for components.
- Supplemental Materials: Examples include planning documents, research reports, surveys, news releases, pictures, clippings, and samples of tactical materials.
- Organizing and Labeling Correctly: Keep font size at 10 or above with one-inch margins, clearly label files (e.g. Gold Pick Entry_Campaign_9C_ Avoiding Crisis_Joe Smith PR), and keep your materials at a folder size of 3G or less.

- Submit an entry form (and payment) for each submission.
For now, you will fill out an entry form.
- Online: You can submit one entry at a time and pay by credit card.
- Mail: You can mail an entry form for each submission and pay for multiple entries at once via check. To download the form go to:
- Upload your entry materials to your Manifest Folder on Dropbox.
After PRSA Colorado receives your entry form, you will receive via email a link to a Dropbox folder where you will need to upload everything listed in step three. You will be contacted one to three days after receiving an entry form.
Materials to be uploaded to the Manifest Folder include:
- Entry Summary
- Organization’s (.eps or .png format preferred)
- Name of individual(s) and organization to be on the award for entry(maximum two lines, 32 characters per line)
- A 100-word description and photos of entry. This will be used to describe and display your entry if it receives an award. Please clearly label each summary and photos with the entry category and title.
- A 140-character description of the entry.
- Entry contact name, phone number and email address
Follow this Manifest folder format:
- Optional step: Drink a glass of wine and pat yourself on the back.
